If workers in a residential care facility for the elderly do not have the proper experience and knowledge, they could cause injury or illness to the senior citizens. That is why most states have licensing requirements for assisted living administrators. Specifically, those who live in California need to undergo RCFE certification training.
RCFE Administrator Jobs RCFEs are facilities designated for older adults who need assistance with everyday tasks such as eating and bathing. The RCFE administrators oversee these centers and their employees. Because administrators have such extensive responsibilities, most states compel them to obtain proper licensing. RCFE Administrator Licenses The National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Board offers a licensing exam for assisted living administrators. Before they take the test, however, they must receive proper training in a facility. Those with just a high school diploma need at least two years of working experience, including one year as a manager. College graduates, however, don’t need as much experience before taking the test. The American College of HealthCare Administrators also provides a professional credential. Applicants must pass an ACHCA exam and have proper RCFE certification training. Assisted living employees in most states must have enough experience and demonstrate their knowledge before becoming administrators. These strict requirements are necessary to protect the senior citizens in the care facilities.
